Melona IV is a Class M planet.
In 2368, the USS Enterprise-D delivered Federation colonists and supplies to the planet. Several Enterprise crew, including Commander Riker and Lieutenant Commander Data, assisted in establishing the Melona colony.
Later that year, Melona IV was stripped of all life by the Crystalline Entity, which also claimed the lives of two colonists, one of them being civilian engineer Carmen Davila.
