The USS Gadsden is an Olympic Class medical ship serving in Starfleet. The vessel served as a medical vessel during the Federation Civil War.
Liam O'Neill served aboard the Gadsden in the capacity of Assistant Chief Medical Officer. His son Eian O'Neill was educated aboard that ship during his childhood. Eian is currently also serving in Starfleet aboard the USS Rosenante, where he is the Assistant Chief Engineer of that vessel.
The Gadsden is currently operating in the Alpha Onias System acting as a mobile hospital to aid disaster victims resulting from a severe volcanic eruption that decimated the settlements there.
