Biographical Informations
Name : Syuvik Age: 28 Sex: Male Birthplace : Regulus III Species : 3/4 Vulcan, 1/4 Romulan and perhaps 1/16 human (still hypothetical) Eyes: Brown Hair : Brown Height : 6'0" Weight : 170 lbs
Syuvik has every traits common to Vulcan. Following his father traits, Syuvik has not the normal Vulcan haircut but rather a haircut closer to human. There is also a very slight biological difference. Syuvik parents were the fourth generation of Vulcans born on Nimbus III and it has been discovered that in the natural selection process, Syuvik has herited some new particularities. While around 95% of Vulcan body is composed of Water, this percentage is only 90 for Syuvik. He has a dryer skin (and more rude skin) and his hair is slightly longer and slightly more efficient at retaining water (his parents and grand-parents had also the same characteristics).
Family background
Syuvik grand-grand-grand-father was a well known Vulcan ambassador and participated in the peace talk between the Federation and the Klingon. When the peace treaty was signed, he was one of the group that came forward with the idea of the "Planet of Galactic Peace", a planet where Klingon, Vulcan, Humans would live together. His own son was one of the first Vulcan to establish on Nimbus III in 2267. The project did not really succeeded and since conflicts between the races were numerious, it was abandonned in 2295. It was the same year Syuvik grand-grand-grand father died. Syuvik grand-grand father was left on a desertic and very poor planet and did his best to raise his children, but resources and food were rare. Because of the circumstances, he was unable to raise his two children in the Vulcan way. His son died, and his daughter, affected by the death left the house and joined a small community of Vulcans, humans and Romulans. Syuvik grand-mother (on her father side) never mated and it is still unknown who was the father, but she gave birth to two children, including Syuvik father, Sikar.
On Syuvik mother side, his mother was half romulan, half Vulcan. Little his known about the Romulan ancestor. As for the Vulcan ancestor, they had normal life on Vulcan.
Syuvik parents were both part of the small Vulcan, Romulan, Humans and Klingon community. This is where they met each other. In 2375, when the war broke up between the Klingon and the Federation, as part of a plan orchestrated by the Dominion, the fragile peace on Nimbus III ended and the government fled away following the open hostiliy between the different races (Humans vs Klingon, Romulan vs Human, Romulan vs Klingon), leaving the planet into anarchy. With the increasing insecurity of the planet, Syuvik parents were able to flee the anarchy and establish themselves on Regulus III. Lacking education and culture, they occupied minor job there. In 2386, they gave born to their first and only child, Syuvik. As most of their Vulcan heritage were lost, they did what they could to educate Syuvik, but their knowledge of logic was limited and were not controlling their emotions at all.
Syuvik youth
If Syuvik parents lacked culture and education, they compensated with incredible love and sacrifice. They did everything they could to give Syuvik the chance to have a life better than they have. Syuvik was an intelligent child and early, he had the chance to go to the best Regulus III schools. Syuvik was taught by his parents about emotions, logic (the little they know about Vulcan culture about logic), and how to live on harsh conditions.
At 10, Syuvik met a Vulcan teacher on Regulus III. Knowing well his grand-grand-grand father, the Vulcan decided to become Syuvik mentor. Syuvik grown interest in his grand-grand-grand father culture and was taugh about Vulcan logic and culture. Already at a young age, he dreamed to go back to Vulcan and become an ambassador.
Being a Vulcan surrounded by humans was not an easy childhood for Syuvik. He was often discriminated, and without realizing it, he was becoming even more like them. However, when he growed older, around the age of 15, he had become use to their presence and had several friends.
Following his mentor recommandation, Syuvik entered the Regulus III Science Academy in 2404 where he began to learn about biology, chemistry, physics. However, two years later, when he was 20, things turned out not like he expected. First, he did not really felt confortable in natural science and wanted to quit, but stayed because his mentor pushed him. It was also the same year he went through his first Pon Farr. There wasn't a lot of Vulcan on Regulus III, and therefore, the choice were very limited. However, following his mentor recommandation, Syuvik looked for a Vulcan rather than a human. Syuvik declared "koon-ut-so'lik" to a 15 years old Vulcan female. However, she declined and rather choosed another Vulcan. Syuvik had no other choice but to declare "Koon-ut-kal-if-fee". It was a close fight, but Syuvik lost and owed his survival to the Regulus III intervention before the combat ended. Syuvik took very hardly the defeat and after 10 years of logical training, his emotions were too strong. Completely depressed and angry, his mentor left him, and it was the worst year of his life. It was also following this defeat that Syuvik sweared to himself he would never lose a "koon-ut-kal-if-fee" again, and began to follow intensive training in several kinds of martial arts.
Syuvik then changed program and underwent a degree in social sciences. More precisely in politics, diplomacy, psychology, history. Once the degree was completed, he wanted to forget the incident following his first Pon Farr, and resumed his study of logic. He was accepted in one of Vulcan academy and moved on Vulcan. Syuvik dream was however short lived. Despite his study of logics, the control he had on them was still weak and other Vulcans began to sense it. Only six month into, his dream became a nightmare, and it ended with a meeting in from of the academy council to learn that he was expulsed of the academy for having lied about his V'tosh'ka'tur culture.
Without taking the time to deal with his new struggle, Syuvik turned to the culture were he had the most success....human, and joined starfleet academy in counselling. At the academy, he was among the best of his class, and thanks to his logic, he was a very successful counselor. However, after two years, he realized that part of is motivation to become counselor was to learn to deal with his own problem. It helped him a lot, and learned to very well balance his logic and emotions, but he began to had doubt becoming a counselor was the most logical decision. Therefore, he decided to add some other background and during the two last year, he had class on strategy, security, tactical, etc.
Starfleet career
USS Mithrandir Following the academy, Syuvik was first assigned in 2413 as Assistant Tactical Chief on the USS Mithrandir, a Nova-Class ship under the interim command of Commander Will Alexander. Following the first successful mission, he was promoted to Ensign senior grade, and made Chief of Security and Tactical officer of the Mithrandir now under officer command of Captain Will Alexander. The following mission was about investigating an attack on a colony. Most of the people was found death except two, including Charlie McGregor. When beaming on board, it was later discover that a kind of spirit had possessed Charlie McGregor and had now transfered into officer Jones body. The mission was a semi success, the spirit being killed following the sacrifice of Jones himself. After the mission, Syuvik was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. The next mission was to find and bring back a captain from the past who had gone rogue. The mission was however rather short, the USS Bonaventure being finally disabled by another ship. Nevertheless, Syuvik was given even more responsibility and was made Second Officer of the ship.
USS Mithrandir - B Syuvik, along with most of the crew, were transfered to a new Luna-class ship renamed Mithrandir B, as Chief of Security, Chief Tactical and Second Officer of the ship. The new ship has just been assigned to its first mission.
General Notes
- Even if he is Vulcan, he is mostly regarded as a traitor by his race, specially the one born on Vulcan. For the others, they have less prejudice, making their relation more easy but still... Being born and raised in a human colony, Syuvik always had good (better than with other Vulcan) relation with humans. He has himself a lot of human friends from Regulus III and from the Academy.
