Starbase 718 is a Federation starbase located near the Romulan Neutral Zone and a key strategic location for the defense of the Federation colonies in the upper part of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. The Starbase is located only a few light years away from Outposts 3, 4, 5 and 6, serving as a sectorial base.
Vice Admiral Beckett, in charge of the defense of the Federation upper border with the Romulan, has his office on Starbase 718.
