| | The [[Luna Class]] [[USS Mithrandir]] is a type of starship that came into service for Starfleet in the late 24th century. |
|
| |
|
| | The Luna-class starship was designed by Dr. Xin Ra-Havreii, of Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards on Mars, and initially conceived for scientific exploration of the Gamma Quadrant following the discovery of the Bajoran Wormhole. The project was sidelined by the impending threat from the Dominion, then restarted following the end of the Dominion War. |

|
| | The Luna-class starships are the top of the line in Starfleet's scientific and exploratory pursuits on behalf of the United Federation of Planets. Each had an average crew of the 350 individuals and was approximately 450 meters long. Their shuttlebays were reminiscent of the old Constitution-class shuttlebays, having a more rounded opening door. They also featured a longer "runway" for shuttles as they entered and exited the ship. |

| Stardate: 2414.01.20
| |
| For the past three months, the Mithrandir has found itself returning to planetary surveys. They have been ordered to the nearest Starbase to take on a large supply of medicine to deal with a plague that had struck an outlying Federation outpost. The ship was also given the advanced replicator technology to produce more medicine.
| |
| The crew set up a Hospital to treat the sick and dying and set about trying to figure out a way to help the colonists.
| |
| | |
| Stardate: 2414.01.21
| |
| The crew are still dealing with the security of the hopsital and dealing with the sick colonists. Dr. Siobhan Philbin (Ast. CMO), along with Chief Reed, begin to investigate the root of the disease and the Doctor is kidnapped by the people behind the outbreak.
| |
| Dr. Philbin is then tortured to reveal information on the investigation and what Starfleet's plans are, unbeknowst to the rest of the crew.
| |
| As the group responsible for the outbreak steal the advanced replicator technology brought by the Mithrandir crew and make their escape, the crew are informed where their missing crewmembers are and mount a rescue.
| |
| | |
| Stardate: 2414.01.22
| |
| The crew begin to deal with the aftermath of the kidnap and torture of their crewmates. The investigation into who brought the plague to the colonists and stole the replicator begins and brings painful recollections for one of the crew.

| Stardate: 2414.05.19
| |
| The crew currently find themselves in the Poinyee System after being ordered to investigate a spatial anomaly that had been reported in the area.
| |
| | |
| Stardate: 2414.05.18
| |
| Ensign Marcel Girard joins the crew of the Mithrandir.
| |
| The crew arrives at the spatial anomoly and, whilst studying it, are hit by energy beams that eminate from the anomoly and a mysterious entity appears on board in sickbay. Later christened ELI (Extraterrestrial living intelligence), the crew begin the investigation into where he has come from and what he is. To compund this, the ship is currently dead in the water due to a sudden drain on the warp drive.
| |
| | |
| As the senior staff meet to discuss ELI's future and the information that the entity is a gestalt entity, now refered to as Legion, ELI makes the desicision to leave the ship, via the transporters and return to Legion from whence he came.

| ==A Brand New Day==
| |
| | |
| The current crew of the USS Mithrandir are currently docked at Starbase Geneva awaiting re-deployment on their next mission. Captain Olorin is re-assigned and Will Alexander, the current First Officer, is promoted to the rank of Commander and the role of Commanding officer. The crew take on board a new First Officer, Lieutenant Kirsten Summers, and are currently awaiting their next mission.
| |
| | |
| The crew were ordered to drop off supplies to an archeological dig on Feros 9. When arriving, they could not raise the settlement and sent an away team. They discovered that the archeologists had been murdered by persons unknown and there were two survivors. Upon returning to the ship, The crew began to discover that the man that they had rescued had been the murderer and that he had played host to an evil, malevolent entity which was now loose on the ship.
| |
| | |
| The entity had found a new person to inhabit, Cheif Petty Officer Jones. The entity forced him to murder another crew member and then take two others hostage, Lieutenant Siobhan Philbin and Lieutenant (JG) Kenneth Mckenzie. The remainder of the crew began negotiations for their release. During this, Lieutenant Philbin was stabbed. Commander Alexander entered sickbay to confront the Jones entity. Jones managed to regain control long enough to ask Alexander to open the emergency sickbay airlock and made the ultimate sacrifice.
| |
| | |
| Whilst being treated for her wounds, Lieutenant Philbin confessed her true feelings for Commander Alexander but, sadly, they were not reciprocated. The ship then headed to Starbase Geneva for some much needed RnR.
