Background:

Thomas Jackson was born in the Utopia Colony on Mars to Jonathan and Martha Jackson. He is an only child. He spent his formative years there, attending primary school and participating in a variety of little league sports events. Even at an early age, Tom showed a remarkable ability to organize things, and he opened a widely successful lemonade franchise program on Utopia, organizing the shipment of Lemons from Earth and standardizing prices among the stands that were part of his program. With the money he earned, Tom purchased a hoverboard, which otherwise would have been out of his financial reach.

At age twelve, disaster struck when his father, Jonathan contracted a rare and untreatable brain disease. Jonathan died later that year.

At age fourteen, Martha Jackson, remarried, this time to a Ferengi business man named Pez. At first the two did not get along, but eventually their relationship blossomed and Pez adopted young Thomas.

The family relocated to Ferenginar, although Tom spent the majority of his adolescence aboard the D'Kora Class Trader Shotal. He completed his secondary training while on board that ship. His primary areas of study was logistics. He served aboard that vessel under contract for two years as an Operations Technician. After completing his studies, Tom decided to return to the Sol System so that he could study Engineering design and advanced project logistics at the famed Utopia Planitia Shipyard Complex. He scored well in his exams and was persuaded by his instructors to join Starfleet.

Education:

Tom studied Engineering Design and Advanced Project Logistics at the famed Utopia Planitia Shipyard Complex. He then went on to study Starfleet Operations and Strategic Logistics at Starfleet Academy. He graduated the Academy on stardate 2406.05.17.

Pre-Starfleet:

Prior to joining Starfleet, Tom worked as an Operations Technician aboard the D'Kora Class Trading vessel Shotal owned and operated by his step-father Pez. Thomas spent two years under contract on that vessel. During that time, he traveled to a variety of worlds and met a large number of beings on his travels.

He also spent a great deal of time on Ferenginar, becoming acquainted with Ferengi business methods and the Rules of Acquisition. It was during his time there that he first met Dahlia.

Tom's service record reflects a dedicated and stalwart officer. He served with distinction during the Federation Civil War, aiding in the liberation of Cait Prime. He was also present at the Battle of Sector 001, aboard the USS Nimitz, which was destroyed during the offensive against the Mars Defense Perimeter. His long-standing good nature, dedication and skills as an Operations Officer have seen him decorated and promoted to the position of Second Officer aboard the USS Rosenante.

Medical:

Tom has been injured in the line of duty on several occasions. He was injured on the attack on Cait Prime during the Federation Civil War as well as contracting the Humans for Humanity genetic disease released on Starbase Geneva in 2405. He as proven to be hearty, and has recovered from all of his injuries received in the line of duty. He fears that he may contract the same debilitating and deadly brain disease that claimed the life of his father. So far, no signs of any such disease have been detected.

Hobbies:

Thomas enjoys a variety of Hobbies. One of his favorites is participating in American Civil War re-enactments, especially those in which his famous ancestor Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson had participated. In addition, He has a passing interest in the study of military battles and conflicts. He is also a fully rated pilot, certified by Starfleet to pilot any class of Starfleet Vessel currently in service. Jackson has also expressed an interest in learning Martial Arts.

He is an avid reader and enjoys model construction and assembly.

Skills:

Besides being a rated pilot and a logistical genius, Jackson also dabbles in computer programming. On more than one occasion his skills have aided the Rosenante crew to fulfill dangerous and difficult mission requirements. Tom is a fair shot with a phaser and a reasonable hand at damage control. He is not a skilled hand-to-hand fighter although he has expressed interest in learning martial arts.

Other:

Tom Jackson is a direct descendant of American Civil War General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. His stepfather, Pez is a very successful Ferengi businessman.

In 2414, Jackson married Dahlia on Starbase 989. The ceremony was performed by Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid.
