The USS Kitty Hawk is a starship of the Miranda Class that was instrumental in the rescue of Eva Straton and other members of the crew of the USS Boudicca.
When the planet Iradon appeared in our universe Straton crashed a shuttle craft there and was later rescued by members of the Boudicca crew. Later when a jury rigged shuttle craft managed to escape the gravitational pull of Iradon as well as the Interdimensional Rift that surrounded the planet, they found themselves with an inoperable ship.
The USS Kitty Hawk was on hand to rescue the missing crew.
