Alex's childhood was a lonely one. His father was not an intentionally cruel man, but he tended to favor Alex's older more athletically inclined brother Adam and Alex's mother followed suit. As a result of this Alex has drifted far apart from his parents, any hint of a relationship was all but destroyed when his twenty-first birthday was forgotten.
