Intrepid was an Intrepid-type starship used by the United Earth Starfleet in the mid 22nd century. The ship's motto was "In Mare In Cælo" ("In the Sea In Heaven").
History
Intrepid was constructed and placed into service by the year 2153 when it would be under the command of Captain Carlos Ramirez. (ENT: "The Expanse")
In 2153, the Intrepid, along with two other starships, aided the returning Enterprise on its way back to Earth while it was under attack by a Klingon Bird-of-Prey. (ENT: "The Expanse")
The Intrepid was one of the vessels gathered at Earth awaiting the return of the Enterprise from the Delphic Expanse in 2154. (ENT: "Storm Front, Part II")
Personnel
Commanding officer Captain Carlos Ramirez
Alternate Timelines
2154/5-2165
In an alternate timeline where Earth was destroyed by the Xindi, Intrepid was one of the few Starfleet vessels to escape destruction. It, along with Enterprise and one other starship, escorted a convoy of the last 6,000 Humans to the Ceti Alpha system in 2155-56, and helped patrol the system afterwards. In 2165 Intrepid suffered heavy damage, including the loss of her port nacelle, in a Xindi attack just before Captain Malcolm Reed would have taken over command from Ramirez. (ENT: "Twilight")
The USS Intrepid NCC-1631
The USS Intrepid (NCC-1631) was a Federation Constitution Class starship crewed almost entirely by Vulcans. (TOS: "The Immunity Syndrome")
In 2267, the Intrepid was undergoing repairs in maintenance section 18 at Starbase 11. The base commander, Commodore Stone, rescheduled the Intrepid's repairs, upon giving the USS Enterprise "Priority 1" status on stardate 2947.3, after being damaged in an ion storm. (TOS: "Court Martial")
In 2268, the Intrepid worked in conjunction with Starbase 6, in conducting a mission to investigate the loss of contact with solar system Gamma 7A in Sector 39J. While traversing that sector of space, the Intrepid encountered an unknown dark zone which was, unbeknownst at the time, slowly killing the ship's crew.
On stardate 4307.1, Starbase 6 lost contact with the Intrepid. A rescue priority was issued to the Enterprise to investigate the loss of the Intrepid in an unknown dark zone. En route, Commander Spock telepathically sensed the crew of 400 Vulcans die.
On stardate 4309.2, the Enterprise established that the thing which destroyed the Intrepid and the Gamma 7A system was an incredibly huge but simple cellular being whose energies are totally destructive to all known life. The crew of the Enterprise destroyed the form, which was determined to be nourishing itself for reproduction. It was the Space Amoeba. (TOS: "The Immunity Syndrome")
The USS Intrepid (NCC-38907)
The USS Intrepid (NCC-38907) was an Excelsior-class Federation starship that was in service during the mid-24th century, under the command of Captain Drew Deighan.
On stardate 23859.7, the Intrepid was the first ship to respond to Klingon distress call from Khitomer when the outpost was attacked by Romulan patrol ships. (TNG: "Sins of the Father", "Redemption")
Chief Petty Officer Sergey Rozhenko, warp field specialist aboard the Intrepid, adopted a young Klingon child called Worf who had been orphaned by the Romulan attack. (TNG: "Family")
- The vessel may have named for the Federation starship USS Intrepid, which was destroyed in 2268.
The USS Intrepid (NCC-74600)
The USS Intrepid (NCC-74600) was the prototype for the Federation Intrepid Class of starships, launched in the latter half of the 24th century.
In 2370, Commander Donald Kaplan, the ship's chief engineer, regularly engaged in power conversion efficiency contests with Geordi La Forge, chief engineer of the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "Force of Nature")
In 2375, the Intrepid was on a three-year assignment patrolling the Romulan Neutral Zone. Commander Chakotay of the USS Voyager posed as Commander Jason Hayek of the Intrepid on stardate 52136 when he infiltrated a simulation of Starfleet Headquarters created by Species 8472. (VOY: "In the Flesh")
In 2379, the USS Intrepid was in Star Fleet Battle Group Omega, deployed in sector 1045 to counter the Reman threat. (Star Trek Nemesis)
