Physical Description: Muscular, he manages to seem towering even though he barely qualifies as tall. He is always calm, usually with a thoughtful expression. He has short hair and a goatee.

Family and Background

James was born in Ipswitch, England to a starfleet family. His mother was a senior chief petty officer who had been stationed on earth. He was born while she was on materntiy leave and visiting her mother in Ipswitch. His father was a Lt. before retiring. When James was 6 his family moved to San Fransisco where his mother began teaching at the academy. When he was twelve years old, he saved the son of the ambassador of Dacoral, giving him the heimlich maneuver. He was knighted by the Ambassador and became a Dacoralian Dragon Knight, a title he thought was ceremonial. His family moved to Norman, Oklahoma when he was 15 and his mother retired from Starfleet after a thirty year career. He went to the University of Oklahoma where he graduated at the top of his class with a Zoology degree. During his junior year at the University of Oklahoma he was called to the planet Dacoral in the Gamma Quadrant to aid the legitimate governing body in stopping a civil war. He didn't arrive in time, and a civil war broke out. Upon his arrival, he was immediately plunged into the war, a war he was surprised to learn was fought with swords and other assorted melee weapons to cut down on casualties, a decision made after a history of more than a hundred years of constant war with outsiders. James spent several years helping the Dragon Knights fight the Great War on Dacoral. He eventually fell in love with a starfleet officer attached to the federation embassy on Dacoral, a Betazoid by the name of Emily North. From her he learned the fine art of tactics, and by this time was already a battle proven warrior. He achieved the rank of captain in the Dragon Knights, becoming the famed units First officer. He was captured along with several squadmates, and a quick thinking private switched uniforms with him to protect him. The ruse worked only because the rebels didn't bother stripping the armor off them before starting to torture and kill his unit mates. James saw his three best friends die, before his wife staged a rescue in Starfleets first entrance into the war. In retaliation, the rebels launched a successfull attack on the Starfleet embassy, capturing all the personnel inside, including the Federation Ambassador to Dacoral, and one Emily North. The ambassador eventually was able to negotiate the release of most of the prisoners by arranging a prisoner exchange. Emily would not leave the ambassador's side. Eventually, her part in the rescue of the Dragon Knights was discovered and she was tortured, beaten, burned at the stake, hacked into pieces and delivered to different officers and officials of Starfleet, the Federation, and the Dacoralian Assembly. James went mad, breaking down and grieving uncontrollably for a period of two weeks. After this short period of time he converted his grief to rage, resigned his post as a Dragon Knight and began tracking down and murdering the eighty-three people who were directly or indirectly involved in his wife's ordeal. James killed more than three hundred people to get to those eighty-three, but by the time he was done, the upper cadre of the rebellion was dead. He was accepted back into the Dacoralian Army as a hero and was given an entire army. James then fought in the last battle of the war for three months before assisting in bringing about ultimate victory by leading a daring raid that distracted the rebels. He was instrumental in convincing the planetary government to apply for federation membership, but immediately left the planet and came back to Earth and finishing his Doctorate in Zoology emphasizing in Icthyology. Upon his return to Earth, James began studying every form of personal combat he could, and became a crack shot with all sorts of weapons. His time on Dacoral changed him into a hardened combat veteran. When the starfleet civil war erupted, he answered the call immediately. He went to Starfleet Academy, where he was a tactical major with a secondary emphasis in the science department, also graduating top of his class. James got into contact with several of LoDona's sympathizers on Earth and managed to smuggle himself and fourteen classmates to Starbase Geneva loaded with classified information and experimental technologies schematics given to him by an instructor secretly loyal to LoDona. He has two sisters, twelve aquariums, four dogs, a cat, a rabbit, twenty guinea pigs, five goats and a lamb, though he only claims the rabbit and the aquariums.
