Starbase 718 is a Federation starbase located near the Romulan Neutral Zone and a key strategic location for the defense of the Federation colonies in the upper part of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants in sectot Z-6. The Starbase is located only a few light years away from Outposts 3, 4, 5 and 6, serving as a sectorial base.
The starbase also serves as the base of operation of the 23th Task Force commanded by Vice Admiral Beckett.
