Hyrangu
Hyrangu
An extradimensional race with the technological ability to move people and equipment through dimensions by use of 'gateways'. One such gateway exists on Beta Seranis III, a planet explored by the USS Hades. One member of the race named Megselif currently resides on the planet and tends the gateway which is at one time both power source, control source and navigational beacon for the races hyper-jump technology. The Hyrangu race is hundreds of thousands of years old. They are very tall, regularly topping out at eight feet or more and their hands and feet have six digits. The continuum which is home to the Hyrangu and their enemies the Jobar is called Cretacis. Hyrangu skin color is normally a bluish grey and their skin appears craggy. Lips are large and deeply furrowed and their ears notedly small. Their arms and legs are proportionally long. Hyrangu are able to use and hear audible communication but find it inefficient, they prefer to use electromagnetic frequencies for direct brain-to-brain communication.
Hyrangu technology is far superior to anything used by the Federation or this galaxy's other civilizations beginning with the gateway which to the eyes appears to be a suspended circle two meters in diameter of brilliantly glowing bluish-white energy. Control panels are made of pure quartz and components of pute metals such as platinum. The Hyrangu are very civilized and understand the necessity for guarding their technological secrets against access by less accomplished and unworthy races. Due to their use of the gateways as anchors in the space/time continuums intergalactic travel has been reduced to days and has opened up their whole universe to exploration which led to their deiscovery of the Jobar. Megselif forwarded to his superiors his pleasure at contact between himself and Federation representatives, a decision for a meeting between the authorities from the federation and the Hyrangu has been tabled however to be considered later. Additional information on the homeworld of the Hyrangu as well as their continuum is unknown at this time.
