Physical Description
Thom is a handsome specimen of Native American Indian male. He wears his hair in a Native American style pony tail. His classic Hopi features are well chiseled, with dark brown intelligent eyes, pleasantly prominent nose, unwrinkled face, full lips and strong chin. He is shorter than the majority of off world males his equivalent age, 30 years. But his 5’8.8” 260 pound body is surprisingly stronger and faster than those his equivalent age and build. He moves with deadly ease of some great, predatory beast. His physical demeanor indicates cool, calm confidence, unforced charisma and rather disconcerting environmental awareness. He has an attractive smile, strong baritone voice and speaks in a friendly, forthright manner.
Family and Background
Both parents are still alive. His father is a tech wisemen, a hereditary ancestor of the pilots and scientists that brought their tribe to Necron Red II centuries ago. His mother is a Medicine Woman in the true Native sense of the word. He has a younger brother and older sister. His brother has embraced his mother's philosphy and teaching. His sister has turned away from traditional native teaching for the facts of hard science. His father is unhappy about his son and his mother is unhappy about her daughter. However they still love all of their idealistic but opinionated children, and despite their differences, their family is basically a happy one.
Education: He attended one of TCII tribal universities and has BS’ equivalents related in Ecology, Biology, Botany and Geology and then Starfleet Academy.

Starfleet History
Ensign Thom Far Eye Trueshot Hania (jg) has graduated from the Starfleet Academy on Holodeck 8, with the infamous Standorval Thrall as his instructor. His is one of the Native American tribes that fled from the depradations of the white man on Earth's ecological systems to Necron Red II, not long after Zephram Cochrane developed warp drive.
Ensign Hania is now on the USS Nimitz, serving in the Tactical Security department.
Medical History
Thom, as many of his race, is overly sensitive to heat and bright light. He has protective lenses as implants for his eyes, and he burns more easily with exposure to UV rays. The only other problems are tribal genetic markers in regard to diabetes and alcohol intoxication. Thom is a teetotaler and has a diet based on whole foods. Thom had some animal bites due to his inexperience early on when still in training with his mother.
Hobbies
Thom likes to talk and socialize with others. Thom enjoys talking shop and tech as well as talking about his hobbies, Starfleet politics and personal experiences. Thom likes non-linear art, tribal music, whale songs, meditation, and shamanic prayer. Old earth movies, except biased traditional westerns are favorites. Archery is a big part of his life and he has studied both traditional Native American Indian Archery and Zen Archery. Rock climbing, camping, white water rafting and spelunking are also favorite pastimes.
Skills and Abilities
Given the Necron Red II's heavier gravity, Thom is surprisingly stronger and faster than his size and weight would indicate. The low level illumination also gave him exceptionally good night vision. As individual, and an expert archer, Thom has exceptional distance vision as well. Because of Necron Red's dimmer illumination Thom has better cold tolerance than his terrestrial ancestors.
His intuitive and shamanic gifts give Thom a heightened environmental awareness, making him much more difficult to surprise and less easy to deceive. Because of his awareness of nature of earth and animal spirits he relates to animals on a more natural and instinctive level and exercises some foreknowledge of their actions and behaviors. In the same way he can relate to and understand those members of either more primitive or emotional driven cultures, ie Klingons, Andorians and Telerites. This ability is instinctive rather than empathic or telepathic. His two shamanic goals are to be able mentally bond with any alien hand held weapon, whether it be muscle or energy powered, and when his mental perceptions are right, even to be able to dowse for the invisible presences of cloaked Romulan and Klingon ships, something with contemporary ST:F sensory technology can not, as yet, do. Likewise his intuitive, spirit oriented, awareness can, at times, also give him heightened sensitivity to things that might be classified as spirits per se, non-corporal or extra-dimensional beings and other anomalous phenomena not perceivable through the normal human senses, or through traditional scientific instrunentation.
In terms of earth spirits, his inner awareness and shaman-like knowledge can, with proper preparation, allow him to dowse for liquids and minerals hidden beneath the soil of a given planet’s surface. He is intuitively aware if consumable foods and liquids have toxins and dangerous impurities in them. Though this is something most others of the TC tribes can do, given the cold dessert surface of Necron Red II.
Miscellaneous Information
Thom dates heterosexually, when the mutual attraction is there. He has no aversion to dating outside his species as long as they are humanoid and therefore compatible. Though gregarious, Thom feels like a loner and misses his people and his home planet. Thom has an aversion to bigotry and prejudice based on race.
