"The Praetor knows not what he is getting in to, but I shall remind of that which is of the upmost importance; The Romulan Star Empire."
An Honourable Begining
Terrh was brought up with his two brothers and one sister in the Halestan District, a Politic district roughly 150 miles from the Capitol City. As with most Romulan families, Terrh's upbringing was strict and foreboding. His sister, Nerai, was treated no differently than any of the boys, and infact excelled in a number of the skills & subjects taught at secondary educations, something that Terrh's brothers were often jealous of, although Terrh remained silently proud of her.
All four siblings were groomed for military service, and Terrh, like his brothers and sister, spent years studying at the Romulan Imperial Defence college, as well as the Romulan Military Academy.
A Career in Local Security
Terrh's first years of service were as part of a local security force in the Halestan District, where he grew up. He began while still quite young, at just 57, and while eager and enthusiastic, he remained forever vigilant and watchful. As part of the military service, he grew to depend on his colleages and co-workers for support. Such was the case throughout most of the Romulan Military, a natural social development that had been part of Romulan tradition for many years.
At the age of 87, he made his an arrest, and although it wasn't his first, it was the first of major importance. He had discovered an undercover agent working for the Breed Confederacy who was working to an end that Terrh did not fully understand, but was assured the appropriate authorities would extract the necessary information. It was this achievement that drew the attention of the Tal Shiar to Terrh. Like most Romulans, he was fearful of the organisation and when they approached him with orders to work for them, he had little choice for fear of what they might do not only to him, but to his family.
An Unlikely Change of Direction
For reasons known only to Terrh, this one event caused him to shift his interests from those of military and security, to those of politics and goverment. Although it was a surprise for his father, Terrh did so with his consent, and for the next 20 years he worked hard to learn all he could about District administration and political agenda. It was a prestigious calling, and just as honourable to a familiy as a military career, and that thought please Terrh much in the years to come. As he worked, he moved from post to post, rising through the ranks as any might do, and by the age of 112 Terrh had been granted the title of Senator of the Halestan District.
In a position of great power, Terrh instigated many changes for the District, mostly economical, and passed numerous policies on increased security. Such policies were met with mixed responses, but overall Terrh was successful in his position. Just a few months later, he found himself summoned to the Romulan Senate itself, where he was able to influence decisions of government, and even get chance to know the Praetor himself - although such ideals were still a great way from fruition
The Romulan Senate
Terrh has been Senator for a little over 40 years, and had continued to rise in importance, stature and social eminence. To his merit, he managed to do this with his own skills in politics and relationships that he built within the senate he was certain would bode him well for years to come. Then, with the death of a member of the Continuing Comittee, he found himself in line for the seat. To his joy, he was elected as a member of the Comitee and now sits beside the Praetor when matters of grave importance must be decided.
Now Terrh acts as an advisor directly to the Praetor, along with the Proconsul, Vice-Proconsul, and four other senators. Although relatively new to the post, he has a lot of supporters in the senate, and as such attracted the attention of the Praetor himself many years ago. Who can say where the following few months will take him.
