Family and Background
Olorin is a widower with no survivors. His wife passed away 30 years ago due to an illness and his only son was killed in active duty 15 years ago. He has several nephews and nieces, as well as a couple siblings, but is not close to any of them in particular.

Pre-Starfleet History
Olorin's upbringing was typical of a star fleet officers' offspring. He bounced about between his parents when they were not serving together. He joined the academy as soon as he was old enough.
Starfleet History
Olorin has served 41 years in Star Fleet. During that time he has served at numerous duty stations. Prior to entering the command ranks, he was an operations officer. For that last two decades he has served under Captain Gabrielle Mori. At the end of the last conflict, Captain Mori died. His transfer to the Dennison was under duress, but he eventually accepted the transfer because of the losses sustained. He hopes to retire soon.
Medical History
Olorin has been injured many times during his years of service, but thanks to the able hands of Star Fleet medical, he is in seemingly untouched and in excellent health.

Hobbies
Olorin maintains several hobbies, he practices his karate religiously, is a Okinawan folk dancer, and musician. He enjoys reading histories and wilderness treks.
General Notes
Olorin is a man who has devoted most of his life to Star Fleet. He was particularly attached to Captain Mori, her death has been quite a blow to him. But he strives to put it behind him and each day is a new day. He keeps his problems to himself and tries to be there for the crew he is serving with. He strongly believes that it is his responsibility to act as a liaison between them and the captain. At this point in his career, he often views the younger crew members like his children, but he tries to be fair and even with them all. He is stern and gentle as need be, although stern often gets called upon to mask his gentle hand.
