Pre- Starfleet History

Things did not go exactly to plan. Although he was captured by Captain Black and his pirate fleet, he was placed a stasis pod before he could activate the beacon. When he awoke he found himself alone and the beacon missing. He was able to escape with the help of Coleridge a super intelligent artificial intelligent which Captain Black had captured from Minos some time before. The escaped in the Free Booster with the stasis pods full of slaves which they released when they were safe. Captain Black escaped by destroying his station as cover

Starfleet History

They were contacted by Starfleet Intelligence who after some negotiating decided to fold them into Special Operations and give them a letter of manqué as well as declaring Coleridge as an autonomous individual and not property of Minos or Starfleet. He was also promotion to the rank of Commander and given the command of the Free Booster with Coleridge.
