On-going problems requiring treatment and monitoring

• The Al-Leyan homeworld has a more dense atmosphere than that produced on StarFleet vessels as a result Varios requires steroid based medication to counter the symptoms of asthma he suffers from breathing the thinner atmosphere.

• He needs to wear glasses during the day so that his visual acuity is good enough to carry out his daily duties. Al-Leyan eyesight has evolved to be at it's best in dim light and the darkness of night and their vision is about six times better than a human's.
