==A Shift in Interest==
By his early twenties, Jerrico was an avid researcher and acheologist.  With a deep rooted interest in the splinter races of [[Vulcan]], he turned his attention to those species of the [[Beta Quadrant]], like the [[Romulan Star Empire]].  This was a difficult challenge for him, since the Star Empire was often closed to outsiders and very little in the way information left it's borders, aside from rumours carried along by traders, and of course reports submitted by starfleet intelligence.  Because of this, he decided to leave the faculty that had funded most of his research so far, and go in search of answers by himself.
