== USS Spectre == Christopher Adams's frequent requests for transfer were finally granted when the USS Humboldt made a rendezvous with the USS Spectre, commanded by Captain T'Vhor. The Spectre was currently investigating a Borg cube's presence in the Subspace River. While investigating an issue with the external hull plating, Adams was rendered unconscious and was sent to sickbay. ("The Gates of Prometheus") Christopher Adams awoke to find the USS Spectre had been transported five years into the future and he had been transferred back to Starbase Geneva in order to recover from his injuries. Once he was fully recovered, he journeyed to Starbase 24 in order to rejoin the crew of the Spectre. He helped on the upgrades to the ship while at the starbase. ("R and R") The USS Spectre disembarks Starbase 24 in route to the Falconer system and the water world of Vedea IV. Their orders are to escort the Freighter Kintaka and protect its shipment of special algae which is only found on Vedea IV. When the ship arrives, an away team, which includes Captain T'Vhor and Adams, beams down to the surface to talk to the Vedeans. While in the underwater capitol city, the Spectre is attacked with an EMP device and is forced to enter the planet's atmosphere. The ship does a controlled splashdown and comes to a rest on the sea bed at the bottom of the ocean. A boarding party fights its way into the ship lead by Commander Williams's sister, Audrey Williams. The boarding party is stopped and beamed back to the Vedean capitol city, but Audrey is no where to be found. Chief Engineer H'Chir is injured while trying to get main power restored to the ship and Adams must take over leading up repairs in an effort to get the Spectre back into space once again. With the help of some Vedean scientists, the Spectre returns to orbit, where repairs continue to shore up the ship. The crew gets a lead on the ship that attacked them. It was a ship from the ETHOS project, a remnant of the Civil War, which allowed it to mimic any other ship in the fleet. The Spectre heads back to Earth in pursuit of the vessel which attacked them. With Chief Engineer H'Chir injured, Adams is promoted to Acting Chief Engineer.("Cry Havok and Let Slip the Dogs of War")
