Editing A Cure Delayed

The Dominion was an interstellar empire, located in the Gamma Quadrant.  

Timeline 

2370:
The Dominion makes first contact with the Alpha and Beta quadrant species via the Bajoran wormhole. The Founders ordered a tentative research of the capabilities of the Alpha and Beta quadrant species.

2374:
Understanding the potential threat the Alpha and Beta quadrant species could be to the Dominion, the Founder began an infiltration program of the major powers in the alpha and beta quadrants. 

2377:
Using the information gathered by the spy network the Founders ordered the construction of mighty armada for the conquest of the Alpha and Beta quadrant

2381:
The Dominion bursts through the wormhole and destroys DS9. They also successfully take over Bajor. A futile counterattack is made by the Federation, but it fails and the DS9 survivors are reassigned to new posts. 

2382:
Cardassia is attacked by the Dominion, but resists. The Cardassian/Romulan alliance dissolves as the Dominion tries to push deeper into enemy territory but their momentum is beginning to stall.

2383:
The Dominion is defeated and sent back through the wormhole. A Federation defence fleet is placed near Bajor as well as a new Starbase begins construction at the wormhole entrance. All infiltrators are ordered to remain in place and become sleeper agents.

2384:
The Dominion deals with internal struggles from different groups within the Dominion which are quickly and brutally crushed by the Jem’Hadar.

2385:
A Dominion scouting force finds a stable wormhole in the Gamma quadrant but disappears without a trace. After an extensive search for the scouting force the Founder decides to blockade the Delta quadrant side of the Gamma quadrant wormhole.

2386:
Learning from their previous failure of their last attempt. The Founders feeling that the time is right begin a new battle fleet for the conquest of the Alpha and Beta quadrant. Communications are re-established with the sleeper agents.

2401:
On the eve of the assault on the Bajor Sector the Borg begin assimilation of Gamma Quadrant through the wormhole to Delta Quadrant. The picket ships are able to send one desperate cry for help before it is swept aside.
The Founders realising that the Borg are a more imminent threat pulls all fleet’s from across its borders to face the Borg onslaught.  

2402:
The great link is moved due to the Borg incursion getting close to their home world. It is moved to a secret location while the Dominion Defence Fleet is sacrificed for its safety as a diversion.     

2403:
The Dominion is victorious against the Borg but at an unimaginable cost to itself, large swathes of the Dominion are barren and lifeless as it begins to recover. Fearing that the Federation or another Species will come through the wormhole and conquer them, they sign the Treaty of Bajor with the Federation. This grants a large section of Gamma quadrant space to the UFP. 
Trade routes from the Gamma quadrant start sending trade and commerce through the wormhole into the alpha quadrant.

2404:
The Gamma Quadrant wormhole defences are started. New defence Starbases begin construction at the wormhole entrance along with a permanently-ready war fleet.

2406:
Due to the instability of the Federation Civil War, the Founders began to infiltrate operatives back into the major Alpha and Beta Quadrant races for intelligence gathering as well as activating more of their existing sleeper agents.

2444:
Dominion starships are sent to dead drops throughout the Alpha and Beta Quadrant for information retrieval about what has been happening there. As more aggressive shadow games begin to play out.
