[[Axtis III]] is a [[Class M]] [[planet]] located in the [[Beta Quadrant]], just outside of [[Federation|Federation Space]]. It is an independant world with an agrarian lifestyle and a frontier-like society. The world is not technophobic, they simply choose to refrain from using advanced technology in their daily life. There are several species that inhabit the world, including [[Human]]s, [[Andorian]]s, [[Klingon]]s and [[Nausicaan]]s.

The planet hosts a sector wide martial arts tournament periodically which draws in a large number of competitors. During one such competition, [[Ben Soma]] and [[Sanok]] participated. Soma was accused of murdering [[Kavol]] over a [[Bajoran]] woman named  [[Marah Neru]]. This was later proven untrue, although Soma was at risk of being executed for a while.

In 2414, Soma and sanok returned to the planet looking for Neru who had been kidnapped from Soma's family home on [[Earth]] five years earlier. Soma had been unable to investigate sooner, due to a [[Temporal Wave]] that had swept him, along with a large number of ships in the [[52nd Fleet]] five years into the future.

During this second visit, Soma was advised that Neru was in the possession of a member of Kavol's family [[Turok]]. To get her back, Soma invoked the [[Ch'mok]].
