David Roskoff is 37 years of age and was born in Tallin, Estonia.  The only child of Natalia and Sergei Roskoff.

David was born when his parents were classed as being rather old to have their first child.  Natalia was 45 years old and Sergei was 50.  Because of that he was cosseted as a child and this lead him to becoming somewhat adventurous once he flew the nest.

He bummed around various ports on Earth taking almost any job that would pay until finally he was hired as a junior security officer at one of [[Earth]]'s major space ports.

Finally, here was something that he found interesting and he quickly rose through the ranks to become head of security there.  Eventually growing bored with staying in one place again he began hopping from planet to planet hiring on as security as and when he wanted until he just happened to bump, quite literally, into [[Niambh McNulty]] who was hiring for a new hotel she wanted to build on [[Beta Aquillia IV]].

He ended up as her head of Security and it turned out to be the first job that he was happy to stay in for more than a year at a time. The main reason being that once he got to know Niambh she became the love of his life and he knew that he would never leave her.
