The [[Gab Union]] was a political and geographical area located on the [[planet]] [[Irlix]]. 

The Union was located on the largest continent of the planet and dominated the entirety of that region. At it's height the Gab Union had a population of 250 million inhabitants and boasted the largest and best trained military force on the planet.

In 2393, when the [[USS Medea]] Crashed in the territory controlled by the Gab Union, the other governments fearing the advanced technology that might be held solely by their neighbor requested that they be granted access to the wreckage alongside Gab Union scientists. When they were turned down, they joined a coalition of nations to assert their right to study the wreckage on equal footing.

Under the potential threat of facing a coalition, the Gab Union performed a preemptive strike and then declared war against it's neighbors, beginning the '''Technology Wars''' that would ravage the planet.

In 2398, [[Ono Nakamura]], a survivor of the Medea crash, assumed the guise of Khoda Rhone and introduced [[Federation]] Technology to the Gab Union breaking the [[Prime Directive]]. The new technology, however was so advanced that Nakamura, as Rhone, managed to force the opposing coalition to the peace table and exercise a great deal of sway over the peace process.  Rhone became a hero and was made ruler for life. He orderd the Union renamed in his honor, ([[Rhone Union]]) and ordered a new capital city built. ([[Khoda City]]). Thus ended the existance of the Gab union which had lasted 3,524 years.


Other major political powers on the planet include, The [[Nuveric Republic]], The [[United Confederation of Mol]] and the [[Banok Empire]].
