Hexikor Prime is a planet nestled between the Cardassian Union and the Federation The planet and it's single moon Hexikor Alpha are completely artificial. The planet is a massive space station measuring 10 kilometers in diameter, while it's satellite measures only 2 kilometers in diameter. The planet was built by the Bynars and is used as a remote computer and research development center. It is inhabited by hundreds of thousands of Bynars. The facility although not considered a true planet by any of the powers in the quadrant, falls under the sovereignty of the Bynars, who are a Federation member world. Therefore this planet is considered a Protectorate of the UFP. In 2408, the ISS Rosenante attacked this facility and stole an experimental class-11 predictive computer which used bio-neural circuitry to mimic humanoid synaptic functions. This device had already been developed in the Mirror Universe and was used as the brain for the Omega Device. The ISS Rosenante crew also stole several additional computer components which would allow them to program the class-11 computer and to build the paratrinic shielding and a phased Cloaking device also employed by the Omega Device. ==In the Mirror Universe== Hexikor Prime and Hexikor Alpha are both subjects of the Imperial Union of Planets. The facilities are heavily armed and protected against attacks and the facilities have served as a think tank for the development of advanced weapons and computers for the IUP. The planet is ringed with a thick layer of defensive satellites more dangerous than those found in the Mars Defense Perimeter. Bynars hold celebrated citizen status in the IUP and they joined the Empire and later the IUP after offering only light resistance. Their computer expertise has made them a powerful force to be reckoned with in the quadrant, although their early agreements have prevented them from establishing their own military forces. The planet has been attacked by the Klingon - Cardassian alliance on numerous occasions, but the planets defenses, including a massive paratrinic shielding system and a phased Cloaking device, have made it nearly impossible to capture. Once Doenitz managed to gain the support of the Bynars his rise to the position of Regent was assured. The Bynars also developed several computer systems for the ISS Rosenante the flagship of the fleet. The planet has immense strategic value, however the planet's highly advanced technology makes it a very difficult military objective to capture. ---- This planet first appeared in the USS Rosenante Mission: Into the Darkness, Go I
