The [[Omega Device]] was a highly-advanced torpedo designed by [[Zachary Falthgood]] in the [[Mirror Universe]], It was in used twice in 2408. At just over one meter in diameter, the torpedo was a weapon designed for mass destruction. Its explosive yield consisted of a cluster of stabilized [[Omega Molecule]]s.

The Device was powered by a condensed energy matrix, which used specialized magnetic resonance to maintain the stability of the molecules as well as power the device. Instead of a standard computer core, there was an on-board [[Class 11 Bioneural Computer|class 11 predictive computer]] which used bio-neural circuitry to mimic humanoid synaptic functions. The computer was programmed to take every measure necessary to ensure that it reached its target. 

The weapon was only sub-light capable but had a maximum range of eighty light years, and was protected by [[Paratrinic Shield Generator|paratrinic shielding]] and a phased [[Cloaking device]] which would cause the device to 'wink' in and out of space as it traveled. Its sensors were able to detect its position. The device could be programmed with a targeting threshold of up to two light years, meaning that when it was within two [[Light Year]]s of its target it could not disarm or divert – not even with the correct command codes. 

The first device was deployed in the [[Mirror Universe]] in 2408 by the crew of the [[ISS Rosenante]]. That weapon test was the first successful launch of the weapon and completely destroyed an assembled [[Mirror Universe|Klingon-Cardassian Alliance]] task force at [[Sunali II]]. The planet was also destroyed by the weapon, while the [[ISS Rosenante]] was thrown through a dimensional tear into the normal universe.

The second weapon was deployed a few weeks later in Federation space. The target was the normal universe's version of [[Sunali II]], although the weapon was intercepted and destroyed by the [[USS Furious]] and the [[USS Rosenante]].
