The federation was left with a lot of empty or partly finished hulls and not enough crews to manage them. Also the worry of the Federation’s fighting strength had been significantly reduced and it could not be able to hold its boarders against any significant attack. The decision was taken to look into way that would increase the Federations fleet quickly but also would not over stretch its post war recovery. The Neural Interface Ship Project code name Sacred Shift was accepted along with other projects to help solve this problem. The Sacred Shift is a test bed flotilla that uses neural interface technology to control their ships The premise of this project is that a single person could control a star ship and use it in different mission objectives. This project was split into three fazes. ==Faze One== It was tasked to find individuals who would be compatible with the neural interface and would not succumb to any adverse effects. ==Faze Two== Obtaining different classes of Starships and explore there compatibility with the neural interface technology. Then deciding which class design would best fit there purpose. ==Faze Three== Was tasked to combine Fazes One and Two to form a coherent unit that could work as a cohesive unit, solo or in conjunction with normal fleet units. ==Prototype Vessel== The [[Charon]] is a [[Ferryman]] class vessel which was being built at the Wallace Space Station was picked as the prototype vessel to test the feasibility of the project before a permeant class of starship was chosen. ==The Flotilla== After much deliberation and testing with different types and classes of star ships the [[Indefatigable Class]] and the smaller [[Prometheus Class]] starships were chosen. This was mainly contributed to the Multi Vector Attack Mode where one ship could split into three smaller ones. This aspect more than any other meant that it would increase the tactical options of the ships commander during a combat situation. The flotilla would consist of three Prometheus class attach cruisers and one command Indefatigable class battleship. These four ships had the ability to split into twelve smaller ships. Each ship would be commanded by a pilot who can interfaced and be able to command every aspect of the ship including the other sections when in Multi Vector Attack Mode. The Indefatigable class starship would also have a commander as well as a pilot who was in total command of the flotilla and would have a tactical overview during combat situations.
