[[Image:Rigelian.jpg|thumb|right|250px|A Rigelian male]] The Rigelians were a vulcanoid species native to the planet [[Rigel V]]. ==Government== The Rigelian Trade Commission was a government body that regulated Rigelian freighters during the 22nd century. ==Pre-Federation History== In 2154, an Andorian and two Rigelians were attacked on Earth in a wake of xenophobia after the Xindi Incident. In early November 2154, a Rigelian scoutship fell victim to an attack by a Romulan drone-ship in disguise of the Earth starship Enterprise in order to destabilize the sector. In late November 2154, a group of Rigelians working for the Klingons, attacked and kidnapped Dr. Phlox from the streets of San Francisco. They would later transfer him, via a Rigelian freighter, to a rendezvous with a Klingon ship. The Rigellian kidnappers and their ship were later destroyed. In January 2155, the Rigelians participated in talks discussing their possible membership in the Coalition of Planets. Also by this time they had developed a unique gene therapy technique. ==Federation History== By the mid-2260s an experimental chemical stimulant designed to speed up reproduction and replacement of blood in the body, notably the production of T-negative blood on Rigelians, was successfully tested Rigel V. Side-effects included tremendous strain on the spleen and the liver. This procedure was later discovered by Doctor Leonard H. McCoy to be a viable treatment for Vulcans, as well. In 2369, a Rigelian freighter was docked at Deep Space 9 prior to its mission to the Gamma Quadrant. ==Medical Concerns== Rigelians were also known to suffer from Tuvan Syndrome, like the Vulcans and the Romulans.
