==Introduction== Provided below are two examples of a typical Tactical Wing in both Peacetime and Wartime. See the [[Fleet Definitions]] page for explanations of specific terms contained within the breakdown, and for extra information. ==Exploratory Tactical Wing: 765th Tactical, 52nd Fleet== ===Number of Vessels and Battle Group Description=== 30 Vessels *1st Battle Cruiser Battle Group (Informal designation/Unit Insignia: Flying Hats) - 4 vessels *1st Cruiser Battle Group (Informal designation/Unit Insignia: Reddings Wonders) - 10 vessels *1st Excelsior Battle Group (Informal designation/Unit Insignia: One Time Deal) - 9 vessels *Destroyer Battle Group (Informal designation/Unit Insignia: The One and Only's ) - 7 vessels ===General Description=== This wing is composed of only four capital vessels, and the rest of the fleet is smaller Destroyers (Which, on average, tend to be exploratory/diplomatic or scientific vessels by Primary Classification. Excelsior's, Oberth's, Steamrunner's etc would be a good example of such craft) This Tactical wing could still cause heavy damage in a fight, but it is not geared to combat. In a Wartime setting, the only place that a fleet of this sort would be found would be in Tactical wing designed to escort vessels, or run behind-the-lines defense and picket duty. Such a Wing on the front line would be pounded and destroyed in very little time. ==Wartime Tactical Wing: 120th Tactical, 5th fleet== ===Number of Vessels and Battle Group Description=== 40 Vessels *1st Heavy Battle Cruiser Battle Group (Informal designation/Unit Insignia: Fiery Hammers) - 9 vessels *1st Battle Cruiser Battle Group (Informal designation/Unit Insignia: Mother of All Havoc) - 12 vessels *1st Prometheus Battle Group (Informal designation/Unit Insignia: Winged Avenger) - 6 vessels *1st Destroyer Battle Group (Informal designation/Unit Insignia: Suicide Kings) - 7 vessels *2nd Destroyer Battle Group (Informal designation/Unit Insignia: Now you see us, now you...) - 5 vessels ===General Description=== This Tactical Wing has some heavy hitting power behind it, with twenty-seven Capital ships and another twelve vessels of a designation including Fighters, Frigates, Destroyers and Cruisers. While the Destroyer groups can run picket or adding necessary firepower to a particularly tough foe, the Capital ships can pound the enemy relentlessly with a mix of pure strength and power. In a war, this would be a very desirable Wing to have, though it would not be very common as the Capital ships would be distributed as evenly as each individual mission allowed. A group of this power would be found in the front lines of a major battle, or engaged in planetary invasion. In peace, the only place you would find a group like this would be in Stationary defense fleets. [[Category: Documents]][[Category: Database]]
