Editing Vedek Assembly

The [[Vedek Assembly]] is the governing body of the [[Bajoran Religion]] and holds great political influence as well. The Assembly is lead by the [[Kai]], the leading religious figure on [[Bajor]].

In 2369 Commander Benjamin Sisko asked Vedek Bareil to grant him an audience with the Assembly to discuss the school problem aboard Deep Space 9. Bareil refused and told Sisko that the Assembly feared him because of his role as [[Emissary]], his position as [[Starfleet]] commander, and because Vedek Winn told them so. (DS9: "In the Hands of the Prophets")

In late 2375, Winn Adami canceled an appearance before the Assembly. What was unknown at the time was that she had turned away from the Prophets and had embraced the Pah-wraith. (DS9: "The Changing Face of Evil")
