Capital City of Angel One
General Information[edit]
Angel I is a M-class planet situated in a star system located not far from the Romulan Neutral Zone. It supports carbon-based flora and fauna and is sparsely populated with intelligent life.
Historical[edit]
In 2302, a Federation vessel visited Angel I, marking the last official contact between the Federation and Angel I before the USS Enterprise-D arrived in the system in 2364, on an investigation into the fate of the Federation freighter Odin, which collided with an asteroid near Angel I in 2357.
The survivors of the Odin had landed on the planet, resulting in a minor shift in opinion and attitude towards the treatment of male members of society. It is believed that this shift may grow over time, and men may gain equal rights.
Political[edit]
Angel I is ruled by the Parliament of Angel I, an elected matriarchy consisting of six elected Mistresses and an overall leader, the Elected One. Its society is established around the idea that males are considered second-class citizens. The women are the hunters and the soldiers. In 2364, the Elected One was Beata.
Within Starfleet, there was a hope that Angel I would one day become a member of the Federation, due to its strategic position near the Romulan border.
Notes[edit]
- Angel One is where Lieutenant Commander Edward Wolfe threatened to drop off Lieutenant Francisco Mendez when it became clear that he had misogynistic attitudes towards women.
