While on their way to [[Starbase Geneva]] a distress call was relayed to the USS Trail of Tears, the first duty station of Counsellor [[Divon Lronen]]. The mining station on Alpha Four had a containment leak and for days, the water and air had been contaminated with high levels of radiation. The leak had gone undetected due to the fact that the stewards of the mining station had not done regular maintainance on the equipment. Three quarters of the miners and their families died within the first two days of the containment difficulty. The remaining groups were fatally poisoned and were therefore slowly dying, this included a number of children who lived out the remaining days of their lives on the USS Trail of Tears behind containment fields after losing their entire families. As a result, many of the crew of the USS Trail of Tears required as much counselling as the children who lay dying.
