Pez is an Ferengi Merchant who owns several merchant ships, a Latinum mine and several lending houses. He is the step-father of Starfleet officer Thomas Jackson serving aboard the USS Rosenante.
In 2413, Pez visited Starbase 989, which is located on the edge of the Beta Quadrant between the Romulan Star Empire and the United Federation of Planets.
His trip was spurred by the reports that three of his freighters were quarantined as a result of a vole infestation. Captain Joseph Taylor refused to release the ships, which began to cost Pez a great deal of money.
Later after Captain Joseph Taylor was found murdered in his quarters, Pez became a suspect. It was believed that Pez was in a position to exact revenge for the large loss of capital as a result if the quarantine.
Pez was first seen in the USS Rosenante Mission: Touch of the Eidolon
