Specific Notes

The Stallion Transport shuttle is a large cargo shuttle, with Danube level capacity. It is designed to be able to be used in several roles with multiple mission modules. It ihas displayed ruggedness to withstand longer periods of time between maintenance overhauls, as well as battlefield conditions. It's central interchangeable module allows for exceptional flexibility for a wide variety of mission requirements. This is the Primary Transport used by the Starfleet Marines.

The Standard cargo arrangement is without a module, which leaves the large cargo bay able to transport even the largest Marine vehicle or up to 45 tons of cargo. The useable cargo area is unusually large, 6 meters wide and 12 deep, and over 3m high. This large area allows for even very bulky loads. This same space allows for the mission modules to act as a large ground headquarters that is easily movable, or a mobile field hospital. Its Phasers provide limited self defense capability, but it is designed to operate in an environment of friendly space superiority. As noted in Tactical Systems and Shielding, the Stallion can be fitted with superior weaponry and shielding, at the cost of lower warp speeds and higher power demands. In crisis, the Stallion could be converted to a gun ship, but plans for a Gunship variant were scrapped after it was found that the Variant would sacrifice the Stallion's great lift capacity for minimum return. Further, there was little need as Fighter Command's Mako Fighters, as well as the SFMC's Trojan and all have sufficient ground attack/closer support capabilities.
