Physical Description

D'Alin is a very tall, slender woman with delicate features, which nonetheless hint at strength. Her muscles are defined, despite her size and while she has typical vulcan shaped ears, her face is rounder and softer than a vulcan, revealing her human heritage. She carries herself with great presence and one tends to notice her when she enters a room, but due to the cruelty of children to all that is different, she has also mastered the art of disappearing into a crowd and becoming unmemorable. She has no distinguishing marks or scars to speak of.

History, Education and Skills

Family and Background

Raised on earth by her mother, D'Alin has never met her father, and knows him only through the stories her mother used to tell her of the heroic deeds her father undertook in Starfleet (mostly made up as D'Alin discovered when she was old enough to ask the right questions) and their fateful meeting upon a distant planet. Upon discovering that she was pregnant, Megan (D'Alin's mother) left her position as a science officer in Starfleet and returned home to raise her daughter. Despite numerous efforts to contact the father of her child, Megan was never successful. He told her that he was in covert operations, and Starfleet denies all knowledge of his existence. All she had was a name, whether real or fake, she had no way of knowing. Despite this, she searched for T'Var Bashen for many years. It was her mother's dearest wish that D'Alin complete her medical training and that she use her knowledge to help the people of earth, but D'Alin was determined to locate her father, and decided to follow in her parents' footsteps by applying to the Academy. She has no siblings and no other living family.

Education

Starfleet Academy Harvard Medical School

Pre-Starfleet History

D'Alin studied at Harvard Medical School, where she graduated in the top 10, earning herself an internship at John Hopkins hospital where she specialised in alien physiology and communicable diseases. Upon successfully completing her speciality, she applied to Starfleet and was accepted.

Starfleet History

Medical History

D'Alin has been surprisingly healthy her entire life, which her mom attributes to her Vulcan genes. She obviously ages slower than a human but not as slowly as a full-blooded Vulcan

Skills

D'Alin is a very competent physician and a good tactical thinker. She excelled at her medical training, but showed a surprising lack of talent in the engineering part of the course. She was competent, but no one would volunteer her to fix the away vessel unless there really wasn't anyone else (including a native). She displayed a flair for command and took it as a back up to her medical studies, fearing that with the glut of students looking to captain their own starship that she would have a shortage of vessels to choose from if she went solely in that direction.

Other Information

Hobbies

D'Alin discovered paper books at an interactive museum when she was a child and was fascinated. Ever since then she has collected them and loves to read them, loving the feel of them. She also enjoys time on the holodeck, participating in various sports, including many forms of martial arts. An avid painter with absolutely no talent, this is one recreational interest that D'Alin keeps to herself.

General Notes

D'Alin is a surprising mix of human enthusiasm and Vulcan reserve. Having studied her father's culture, but not having had much opportunity to interact with Vulcans, she often tries to act in a way that she feels her Vulcan father would approve of, but her bubbly personality sabotages her efforts. She is dedicated to those that she befriends and stubborn to a fault, but doesn't hesitate to help someone if she believes it to be the right thing to do.
