Alpha Serapsis 149
Alpha Serapsis 149 is a nominal Class M Planetoid located in the Canopius System in the Alpha Quadrant. The planetoid has a thin atmosphere which is fairly toxic, although not enough so as to case immediate death. There is very little surface water available and that which is is contaminated by heavy metals and slightly radioactive salts. The Planetoid is resource poor for the most part and distant enough from the shipping lanes to be of little consequence.
In late 2407, Captain Saleke, commanding officer of the USS Poseidon crashed his damaged Escape Pod here after the loss of his ship in the battle against the USS Defender, commanded by Rear Admiral Errol Heatherby.
Saleke managed to survive for some time on the planetoid, despite its inhospitable nature and was rescued by a Bajoran survey vessel, passing through the system.
