Ieko Takawa was the presiding judge over the Quadrant Championship martial Arts Tournament held on Starbase 989, located on the border between the Romulan Star Empire and the United Federation of Planets.
Takawa was a married man and was blackmailed, after a drugged indiscretion, by Captain Joseph Taylor, commander of the station, to fix the tournament.
When captain Taylor showed up murdered in his quarters, Ieko quickly became a prime suspect in the case.
Ieko Takawa was first seen in the USS Rosenante Mission: Touch of the Eidolon
