Janel Tarna
|
Dr Janel Tarna was very fortunate to graduate from the Academy and walk into the role of ACMO. The young Trill felt optimistic that there would be many opportunities to advance his career and impress the symbiosis commission; however his mother felt otherwise and the move sparked another argument between family members regarding Janel's path to joining.

Current Projects
In my free time, when I'm not writing posts or pursuing other hobbies I can often be found meddling with the wiki. I enjoy building my character's wiki page and in all honesty it will never be done because as my characters grow and evolve I like to keep a record of it. This means the wiki page is the most complete and in-depth resource and reference for my character that I can make it. When I'm not doing that I have other goals in mind and they are listed below.

In the three years I've been working with wikis I've grown from having little understanding of them, detesting them and finding them ugly to being able to find my way around fairly well. I wouldn't call myself an expert but I've learned a lot and am happy to share that knowledge and help where possible. If anyone has any questions or requests I encourage you to leave a comment on my discussion page.
Other Roleplaying Experience
I have been roleplaying for around three years (as of 2014). I've learned a lot in that time and am of the mind that there's always more to learn. I'm always actively looking for new ideas and ways to make things better in my own writing and the group(s) I'm loyal to. In the time I've been simming I've:
- Mentored other players and guided them to improve their writing.
- Facilitated group and community wide live (IRC) discussions on topics ranging from how to write for alien species, to writing with more personality.
- Commanded a ship of 12+ players, writing at a pace of +150 posts a month.
- Helped with tasks such as:-
- Group publicity
- Running competitions
- Writing news and writing focused articles
- Organizing and running special events
- Designing graphics and creating graphics tutorials.
- Judging for group and community wide competitions.
- Facilitating forums.
- Wiki development.
The thing I love most about roleplaying is the people - getting to meet new people, making friends and enjoying my favourite franchise with them. I love the characters and with every character I create I usually have a specific concept or idea in mind that I want to explore with them. I love character driven writing, seeing how characters interact with each other and grow. It's what I loved about the shows and it's what I love to write.
