Pre Starfleet History

The great link was her home so she shares that with all connected to the link. She had begun to find that she did not agree with her people's ideology of distrust of the solids. Their continual attempts to infiltrate and undermine other species did not sit well with her and she decided to leave the link, requesting an assignment to observe and study other species first hand.

Starfleet History

In an effort to observe as many different species she decided to join Starfleet. She went through the academy, learning how to interact with solid races. Being a fast study she did well in the academy but found it hard to make friends. She always found it strange to be friends with those she could not link with.

Raven decided that studying security gave her the greatest opportunity for studying others and upon graduation requested an assignment at a Starbase rather than a ship.

Her first assignment was on Starbase 542 on the edge of Ferengi Space. There she had been instrumental in ending a Ferengi crime ring. Using her ability to shapeshift she was able to infiltrate the crime coalition and bring back valuable intelligence to root out the leaders of the ring.

Raven was promoted to Lt. (jg) but knowledge of her ability bred mistrust and it was felt that she would be better served in a transfer to Deep Space 3. Once again she proved to be a valuable asset in an investigation using her ability to change shape. However, once again, old biases reared up as people held onto ill feelings towards the Founders from the Dominion War. At one point Raven's “friends” convinced her to play a joke on two of her co-workers and become a bench in the gym’s locker room. She wound up in a compromising situation where the pair began to use her as a place to… become closer.

It was recommended that she be promoted to full Lieutenant and transferred to Starbase Freedom.
