Barakos IV
Barakos IV is a planet located in the heart of the Orion Syndicate. It's primary trade is in slaves and other illegal good. It is within 100 light-years of the border of the United Federation of Planets and is therefore also a haven for smugglers and pirates. This planet is heavily guarded by Syndicate ships and has three processing stations in orbit around the planet.
In early 2408 the USS Rosenante visited the planet under cloak, while attempting to locate the Cartenian Prince Khamal who had been kidnapped by Morella in an attempt to prevent him from establishing peace between the Arturians and the Meldovians. The Syndicate and Morella in particular had been supplying both sides with weapons and services during their 400 year war and stood to lose a great deal of profit if a lasting peace was established.
The Rosenante sent three away teams to the surface of the planet, but were unable to locate the Prince there, although they did receive a lead that led them to Haldor II, Another planet located in Orion Space.
The planet is Class M and is developed only moderately, with it's primary hub being the slave market.
