Telepathic Interface Device
The Telepathic Interface Device or TID for short, was a device created by Lieutenant Detron Trei as a holographic construct aboard the Holodeck of the USS Boudicca.
The device was designed to read and magnify Trei's inherent telepathic abilities and allow him to beam those energies out into space, with the purpose of contacting other species. The TID was partially successful, when in 2414, it was used to make contact with Volus a member of the Varn species, who was a semi-independent member of the Borg Collective.
The device recorded the telepathic frequencies that were used to make contact. Trei's contact jeapordized the Mission against the Borg and almost caused the destruction of the USS Boudicca and the USS Rosenante.
The Telepathic Interface Device was first seen in the Joint USS boudicca and USS Rosenante mission Once More Into The Breach
