AISORS
The AISORS or Autonomic Internal Signal Oratory Relay System is a medical device that is installed into the inner ear cavity of individuals suffering from extreme damage to the Auditory Nerve that can not be corrected through neural regeneration techniques.
In addition to allowing the recipient to hear with perfect clarity, the device is also capable of being adjusted to detect sound frequencies in the Ultrasound or Subsonic range, thereby allowing the recipient to detect sounds normally beyond detection for members of their species.
John Linskens, a science officer aboard the USS Boudicca was a recipeint of the AISORS.
They were also the inspiration for Matthew McLaren's Neural Subspace Processor and Neuromuscular Nanowires which later allowed him to walk.
