A Port in the Storm
Only a few weeks after the evacuation of the federation refugees from Beta Aquillia IV the USS Rosenante was once again on patrol in Sector 6309. Among those remaining on board is Ambassador Joanne Turner, Niambh McNulty, David Roskoff and Sien.
These individuals had their various reasons from remaining aboard, but as Captain Salid had no arguments against their remaining on-board for the time being, they found themselves spending a good deal of time mixing with the crew of the Rosenante.
Three days after transferring the last true refugee from the Rosenante to the USS Noble the Rosenante found itself conducting a basic survey mission. This tedium coupled with the recent failure to uncover those behind the Veil of the Sky coup on Beta Aquillia IV led to an all-time low morale aboard ship.
That tedium, however was soon to be interrupted, with the sudden appearance of a Plasma Field Storm that seemed to manifest spontaneously. The storm front struck the unprepared Rosenante with full force, causing massive damage to the ship's power distribution systems among other ship's systems.
The crew of the Rosenante are scrambling to aid the wounded, survey the extent of the damage done to the ship and to restore critical systems. In addition, Captain Salid has order Lieutenant Viskhard to begin an analysis of the storm front, in the hopes of predicting the possibility of a recurrence.
After the initial assessments of the damage are made, Captain Salid contacted Starfleet Command to advise them of the ship's condition. With a significant amount of damage to the Warp Systems, Structural integrity Fields and Inertial Dampeners, it was rapidly apparent that the ship was fundamentally in distress. In addition to the propulsion issues, several decks had lost life support.
It was decided to inquire with a newly contacted species in the area, the Kozani. From their home planets, Kozan and Kozana, they dispatched the repair and salvage vessel Izaldi to come to the Rosenante's aide.
The Izaldi, captained by Tamdra Iz, was able to link up with the Rosenante and using her own specialized systems generate the necessary fields to tow the Rosenante into the Morzaq Shipyards, situation midway between Kozan and Kozana.
During the storm Commander Ben Soma, Lieutenants Parker Davis and Eian O'Neill were severely injured. With their conditions stable, Captain Salid authorized Shore Leave for the crew, allowing the majority of the repair work to be undertaken by the Kozani.
The crew, eager to explore the new world set off for either Delas City or Lotos City to experience all that the binary planetary system had to offer.
During this time Lieutenant Chance Raschen was left in charge of overseeing the dock repairs to the Rosenante.
