Personal Background:
Born in Belleville, France in the Earth year of 2360 to the parents of Samuel and Charlotte Reynard, his parents named him after the famous starship Captain, Captain John Paul Reynard. As a boy Auguste loved to play a game called Chess with his friends and other strategic games. As a teen he would take trips with to the mountain areas in the Pyrenees for rock climbing adventures. During High School he played Baseball for the local high school team, and studied history, which became his favorite subject. He graduated from High School at the age of 18 and then enrolled into Starfleet Academy taking several command courses. In the last year of the Academy he took the Kobayashi Maru four times failing each of them, on his fifth try he tried to cheat, but an Instructor noticed this and placed him in the brig for 2 weeks for modifying Starfleet programs and material without permission from a Commanding Officer. During that time he fell in love with a Trill named Kusan Yur, unknown to him during Yur’s first year at the Academy she dropped out in order to have his child.
In 2382 he graduated from the Academy and took his first assignment on the USS Bastille. On the Bastille, James met his future wife Amanda Davis. They were married in 2384. Their marriage lasted for three years, but ended in a bitter divorce. Amanda gave birth to his son Eric just eight months after the break up. Auguste took an Assignment on the USS Maryland as Chief Tactical Officer for four years, when he accepted an assignment as FO on that same vessel. He spent eight years on the Maryland before he accepted a transfer to the USS Larson as Commanding Officer. He commanded the Larson for five years, before she was destroyed by forces of the 52nd Fleet in the final battle of the Federation Civil War. Most of his crew survived the destruction of the ship, but he did not.

During the Civil War Auguste made his mark during several small battles with 52nd Fleet forces. His primary area of operation was in the edge of the [[Alpha Quadrant], near the planet Andoria and the Orion Nebula
