Phase Variant Modulator

A Phase Variant Modulator is a very specialized tool used to read and if necessary adjust phase variances on equipment, personnel, or through energy flow matrixes.
The tool has the ability to alter the quantum phase signature of the target material which can cause a physical item to slip out-of-phase. This has a few practical applications, as an out of phase item could then pass through in-phase matter without damage or injury.
In some instances personnel have been forced out-of-phase and this tool was used, among other methods to either detect their presence or to restore them to a normal in-phase state.
