Seylerions

A Seylerion is a particle that through some unknown means seems to maintain the stability of Chronitons. It was first discovered and catalogued by Lieutenant Christine Seyler, immediately after a Temporal Displacement Wave, shited the vast majority of the 52nd Fleet forward into the future by five years.

Without the presence of Seylerions, Chronitons seem to degrade rapidly leaving little sign that they were present. When Seylerions are present, however the Chronitons can be gathered and measured even weeks later.
