The Harvester

The Harvester is a probe of unknown origins encountered by the USS Rosenante during her exploration of the Beltanis Stellar Nursery.
The device was massive and constructed entirely of Neutronium. The device consisted of three distinct sections.
The first section, dubbed the Bone yard, was a massive sphere 500 kilometers in diameter The interior of the sphere was mostly hollow and was fundamentally no different environmentally than normal space. There were a series of starships that had been collected by the Probe located here. These ship's were in various states of disrepair and/or salvage. At the time that the Rosenante arrived there were six sentient species already trapped aboard the device. These were the B'zz'tz, the Kobali, the Sky Spirits, The Nechani the Hur'q, and the Hunters. Each of these factions had been trapped here for varying lengths of time, with the Hur'q being the longest. The interior of the Neutronium Hull somehow allowed sufficient light to pass into the compartment to allow Solar and Photoelectric Power to be utilized.
In addition to the hollow space, at the aft most portion of the compartment there was a bulb, which was roughly 4 kilometers in diameter and constructed of a clear version of Neutronium. This Bulb was called the bastion and was divided along it's horizontal midpoint into two distinct bio domes. In these bio domes, supplanted plant and animal life thrived, although limited by the size of their habitats. These animals and plants seemed to have been cultivated in this space by previous inhabitants to the Bone yard.
The Second Section, consisted of a series of vertically oriented rings, connected together by four long hollow corridors. These corridors were connected to the aft most portion of the Bastion and allowed access to other portions of the device. Both the rings and the corridors contained numerous compartments. The Second section was believed to be over 200 kilometers in length.
The Third section of the device was the Drive and Power section. This section consisted of two horizontal parallel flat fin-like structures. In the aft of each of these compartments were the devices drives and power sources. The device recharged massive raw fusion reactors through some unknown process, but it is believed that the device captured it's energy from the chaotic and primal forces at work in the Beltanis Stellar Nursery.
It was also determined that this Third section contained the living quarters and work areas of the device's original inhabitants.
The Harvester would detect the presence of a Starship and then scan it, effectively mapping it's complete molecular signature. It would then initiate a series of massive and exceptionally complex transporter-like beams which would dematerialize the ship. The vessel and it's crew then rematerialized inside the Bone yard.
It is interesting to note that the device's transporters were able to freeze and transport working matter-antimatter reactions without incident. NO other transporter technology of this type has ever been seen. This coupled with the Neutronium hull design leads to the conjecture that the Harvester Probe could be a remnant of the Tkon Empire, although there is no way to prove that theory.
The harvester was first encountered in the Mission Fields of Elysium.
