Tovus Merek

Senator Tovus Merek - Romulan, father of Captain Keira Merek. Was a navigation officer in the Romulan Imperial Navy, sent to a dead-end desk job as Facilities Administrator running the penal colony on Carraya IV. After the Hobus supernova, the once regular supply runs became non-existent. After nearly a year of surviving barely off of the land, his people dying, Tovus swallowed his pride and sent out a distress call. It was answered by a Starfleet Colonial ship, the Federation Colony joined with the Romulan Staff and the Klingon prisoners and became one colony. After being rediscovered by the Romulan Republic, Merek was asked to be a Senator for his sector.
