USS Denver
The USS Denver is a Federation starship of the Nova Class. She is a science vessel and is still in active service.
In 2397, she was responding to a distress signal being transmitted from a federation Colony when she was ambushed by a Borg Probe. Oddly, the Borg chose to only assimilate the ship's Commanding Officer, First Officer and Chief Science Officer.
They Also elected to use a cutting beam to cut out the Denver's main computer core. Serving on the ship at that time was Lieutenant Alan Durand, future captain of the USS Boudicca.
All records of the event were sealed by order of Starfleet Command. This action later caused Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid to use his authority as Fleet Captain in 2414 to override the security seals to determine the contents of the Denver's logs from that time.
It was determined that those logs were relevant to the current Borg activity in the Dovek System.
