Vermicula

Vermicula was a food consumed by the Antedeans. It consisted of small fish-like animals. (TNG: "Manhunt")
The material is most likely exceptionally rich in proteins and complex fat compounds. As a result they provide quick energy and sustainable readily absorbed nutrition for the Antedeans who consume them upon awakening from long hibernation periods.
