Physical Description of Race:

Chamorians are scaly bipeds, standing at only 5 feet tall, who resemble overgrown earth lizards. An average Chamorian’s tail is one foot ten inches in length. Their blood is blue.  They have great agility and flexibility, making them extremely difficult hold onto.  The skin of the Chamorians has the ability reflect light, giving it great camouflage capabilities.  It can mimic any surroundings, so that it blends in to near invisibility.  Chamorians also have protective facial horns.  The usual eye color of Chamorians is purple.  Their eyes also have the ability to move independently.  Although they are biocular by nature, they can see in two different directions at the same time.

Chimerians have a life span of 50 years, but grow to maturity quickly.  Their adolescent stage begins after 6 years.

Culture:

Chamorian culture is a matriarchal society, in which the females are the agressors in ruling and mating.  Males generally tend to have one purpose alone, and are considered useful for little else.  Chamorian females chose their mates for life, and then lay eggs in a remote area of the landscape, traveling perhaps days, without stopping to rest before hand.  The egg hatches, and the child must then return to the home village, Tetusa, to find their parents. If they don’t find their parents the child is considered an outcast of the village, which is very rare. The outcast child must leave the village, never to return, to live a life in exile.

At age six, children start to train for their future careers, which are chosen by their mothers.  An outcast must choose their own path, and find it difficult to find someone to teach them their chosen career.

At 16, the female child leaves the village to find their future mates. The male child leaves his parent’s house, building one of his own, which ends the training years.  Finding a mate usually takes a great deal of time, perhaps half of their remaining life.  It is extremely rare for a female to never mate.  It is considered their sacred duty to propagate the race, given their reverence by the males

Abilities

This race is pretty much like the lizards from earth. They do differ greatly though. They have great strength (2 times that of a normal human) and flexibility, night vision, speed, and camouflage abilities.  They also have the ability to regenerate body cells, including limbs and organs.

History

In 2019 scientists on Genea Prime tried to find a cure for a deadly virus using lizards DNA to experiment with cellular regeneration. The experiment went wrong, and when the lizard DNA combined with the virus and its antidote, the virus mutated and infected the population.  The result was the creation of the Chamorians, an intelligent, and adaptable, reptilian like race.  The remainder of the planets population died off from the virus, leaving only the Chamorians as the dominant life form.

In 2080 they began space exploration, much the same way Earth did. Small vessels were launched, and it orbited the planet.  It wasn’t long before a full blown space program was developed and by 2110 they had begun to develop warp technology

In 2150 they found out about earth and the Federation. They applied to join the UFP, but were denied, due to the unusual nature of their birth as a society.

In 2380 they requested to join the UFP again, and to join Star Fleet. They were denied again for entrance into the UFP, but their request to join Star Fleet was granted.

In 2403 they had their first volunteer join Star Fleet.
